ELECTRON MICROSCOPE RESEARCH FELLOW IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

ELECTRON MICROSCOPE RESEARCH FELLOW

Duties:  The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following duties: (i) supervise the operations of the Electron Microscopy unit; (ii) undertake research and coordinate research activities in electron microscopy for a wide range of research; (iii) undertake some teaching of electron microscopy courses/techniques; (iv) set up academic as well as commercial Electron microscopy services nationally and regionally; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Dean, Faculty of Science.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a relevant Master’s Degree; (ii) a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (iv) a PhD in electron microscopy or related field with evidence of extensive use of electron microscopy for research, and an associated output of publications, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
