A world leading steel producer with large Iron Ore operations in West Africa are currently looking to hire a Process Control System Engineer for their project in Liberia.
Responsibilities
- Industrial computers (DCS and PLC)
- Maintaining software programs (PLC, DCS, HMI and/or PC based) specific to project automated equipment & requirements
- Collaborate with the operation, maintenance and engineering departments for technical functions and to continuously improve safety, operation
- Historical data for use for production reports
- Train plant operators with the HMI-human machine interfaces for the concentrator and port
- Participate in the installations and commissioning of new equipment
Experience and skills
- Experience with Siemens' Simatic PCS 7 and IC standard IEC 61131-3 programming language is a plus,
- Experience in programming, mechanical and electrical problem solving
- Knowledge of automation, control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience is an asset
Education and Training
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering is an asset.
- Any training in Siemens control systems will be recognized.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook),
NOTE that the company will train and embed the successful candidate for training with Siemens during the fabrication and development phase of the Process Control Systems (PCS) in South African or other global location as required.
