Roles & Responsibilities
To maximise the banks' profits through. Assist the Chief Dealer in achieving/performing his/her duties. Assist the Chief Dealer in achieving/performing his/her duties. Effective management of assets and liabilities in the balance sheet , Monitoring the Spot, Forward & Trade exposure with local and international banks. Trading in foreign exchange and domestic Money Markets (interbank, customers and branches) Your specific roles are :- Price maker to large corporate customer base in foreign exchange, money market and derivatives.
- Manage call accounts of clients.
- Quote term assets and liabilities up to 18 months.
- Manage and price money market deals for various clients.
- Have a good working knowledge of all vanilla derivative products.
- Quote prices on vanilla derivatives to customers.
- Manage customer portfolios by maintaining and growing turnover.
- Build an in-depth knowledge of the client by staying abreast of changes within the customers business with a view of creating new business opportunities.
- Keep abreast of market developments and proactively keep clients up to date with current market conditions.
- Understand and manage credit exposure to clients, together with how this equates to pricing.
- Educate clients in the correct manner of dealing across all markets
- Entertain clients on a regular basis through FNB events as well as informal entertaining.
- Manage the threat from competitors and outsourcing companies to retain customers and turnover/profitability.
- Manage good relationship with other price makers in the market
- Seek out cross-sell opportunities in the bank within customer base
- Maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and dealing ethics at all times.
Requirements
- A relevant degree is required. (B.Com with Finance or Bachelor of Accounting & Finance is an added advantage)
- ACI accredited
- At least 2 years dealing experience with a thorough knowledge and experience in foreign exchange, money market and currency options.
- Experience and knowledge in interest rate derivatives will be advantageous .
- Hands-on experience in squaring of daily cash positions.
- Experience in portfolio management will be preferred.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Knowledge in securities dealings is a strong added advantage
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Position keeping of all currencies and balancing the dealers blotter back to the core system to ensure all deals are accounted for.
