Education Specialist

The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG) an international development firm in Washington DC seeks qualified candidates and consultants for a potential USAID funded support services contract.The Education Specialist provides overall technical oversight and guidance to the EGRA design and implementation, and to the structuring of the national and provincial-level workshops to share the results of these data collections. She/he will work with several individuals, to organize and implement the data collection activities, to coordinate the data analysis and interpretation, and to orchestrate the reporting of the results.
Education: Requires a Master’s Degree in education.
Skills and Experience: At least 6 years’ experience in the technical direction of programs that work specifically to improve early grade reading is required. At least 5 years’ experience with the development of early grade reading materials, training programs, classroom monitoring protocols, and tests and assessments, including EGRA or EGRA-like tests, in developing countries is required. At least 3 years’ experience in sub-Saharan francophone Africa is required. Experience in Madagascar is preferred.
Language: The candidate must be professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English and French at FS4+ level. It is preferred, but not required, that the candidate be conversant in Malagasy.
