Roles & Responsibilities
Service a portfolio of clients through the processing of various International Banking products and the resolution of queries and requests originating from both internal and external clients. Specific roles include;- Develop speed and efficiency in relation to inputting, checking and verification of foreign transfers and guarantees
- The ability to identify and implement new processes in order to minimize expenses and maximize efficiencies
- Ongoing evaluation and improvement of turnaround times and process efficiency levels
- Month end balancing of G/L Accounts and trade related products.
- Plan ahead to meet deadlines and ensure that trade official meets his/her deadlines pertaining to the daily duties.
- Ensuring that all queries and processing are up to date in conjunction to the duties of the trade official.
- Meeting specific performance and team targets.
- Ensuring turnaround times are strictly adhered to
- Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small showing concern for all aspects of the job accurately checking processes and tasks being watchful over a period of time.
- Provide support to all areas in Trade and to the head of trade.
- Monitor and judge shortfalls within Trade.
- Identify problem areas and new business opportunities to create revenue.
- Indemnities trade related
- Compliance with all applicable procedures, rules, laws and regulations.
- Communicating and explaining transactions clearly and coherently to both internal and external clients.• Establish & Amend Letters of Credits
- Advise export Letters of Credits and to identify potential risk areas for both the bank and the client
- Issuing of local and foreign guarantees in terms of URDG.
- Check documents in terms of UCP500/UCP600, ISBP, and URR525/URR725 and to identify valid discrepancies.
- Provide process/system assistance to internal and external clients.
- Prompt query resolution.
- Taking prompt action to accomplish objectives taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required being proactive
- Daily filing and diarizing
Requirements
- Completed High School Qualification
- Min 3 to 5 years banking experience with Advanced Foreign Exchange.
- Min 3 years with a proven track record in an International Trade and foreign exchange banking environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
