Are you motivated by your Christian faith to bring real hope to families and children in the world’s hardest places? Are you passionate about using your professional financial skills to transform the lives of individuals around the world?
VisionFund International is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision International. Microfinance lending to the poor is performed through 32 microfinance Institutions (MFIs) globally and has outstanding loans of approximately $500 million to over one million clients, impacting the lives of over 3 1/2 million children each year. A social enterprise, it ensures financial sustainability as well as social performance and focus on child wellbeing outcomes.
For the last ten years we have been improving the lives of children by providing small loans, savings and insurance to people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to finance, so they can develop self-reliance and grow their own businesses. We know that when they grow successful small businesses the whole family benefits and their self-confidence increases. Their children are more likely to attend school, have enough to eat, and benefit from improved living conditions and better health. The people we lend to also make a real difference in their communities as their businesses thrive. Many create jobs, becoming role models, and taking a lead in community projects – like schools.
We are currently seeking to employ an outstanding and distinctive individual as Chief Financial Officer to drive VisionFund’s financial strategy to enable the holding company and each microfinance institution to succeed. As well, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the global accounting, risk management, debt fundraising and management, and the rebalancing of the microfinance network portfolio, through sales and potential acquisitions/start-ups.
This role is vital to VisionFund’s ability to deliver on its strategic plan, and its seniority within the organisation reflects the importance attached to it. The Chief Financial Officer will report directly to the VisionFund President and Chief Executive Officer.
VisionFund is seeking an individual with 15-20 years’ experience in a senior financial leadership role, with capability in corporate financing, treasury management, and funding within a mid to large sized bank or corporation. S/he will have substantial management experience in a relevant international context, evidenced by experience of operating at a senior level and having held accountability for an operation or unit of some complexity, including both in teams of people and financial resources.
