  • Deadline : 18 Nov 2016
Around 45,000 children under the age of five in Nigeria die from diarrhoeal diseases caused by the nation’s poor levels of access to water, sanitation and hygiene. 31% of the Nigerian population do not have access to safe water– that’s nearly 58 million people. While 71% of Nigeria’s population lacks access to basic sanitation, that’s over 130 million people without a toilet! This is a crisis that needs action to ensure that the story is one of universal access-everyone everywhere in Nigeria having access to high quality water, sanitation and hygiene services by 2030.
WaterAid Nigeria has recently agreed a 5 year strategy and has restructured to be more effective in responding to the needs in the country context. We are expanding the scale and scope of our work over the coming years with a view to supporting and catalysing government efforts to deliver the SDGs especially Goal 6.

The Funding Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of the Country programme’s strategy and capacity to mobilise and manage grant funds from diverse sources. The role will be accountable for ensuring that project implementation and reporting are in compliance with donor contract conditions. The post holder will be expected to build strong and effective collaborations with colleagues in WaterAid Nigeria, WaterAid West Africa region, WaterAid International member countries, partner organisations and a wide range of stakeholders to support achievement of fundraising targets.
To be successful in the Funding Coordinator role you must possess a graduate or master’s level degree in International Development, Business, Marketing or other related discipline.
