Emergency Response Team
NRC is a humanitarian organisation working in all phases of displacement with a special focus on the emergency phase. To strengthen the capacity to respond immediately to the needs of our beneficiaries when a crisis occurs, NRC established global Emergency Response Teams (ERT) in 2012. NRC is now recruiting for a new ERT, dedicated to work in the Lake Chad Basin and possible further countries in the region. We are initially recruiting for a total of 3 new staff (1Team Leader profile and 2 Technical profiles). The team will be operated by the Emergency Response Section within the Field Operations Department at NRC Head Office in Oslo.
Job description The members of the team will be on full-time contracts in order to be available to support NRC in responding to emergencies. This will mostly be to assess needs, initiate coordination and to start up any required first response activities in the affected area until handed over to interim/permanent staff. This may mean a rapid deployment at short notice into a new emergency.
