BRAC International is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill up the following position:
Manager, Poultry & Livestock
Key Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective implementation of project activities within the stipulated time as per the budget provision and ensure expansion and visibility of the project activities.
· Overall planning, monitoring, coordinating and proper implementation of the poultry & Livestock components in projects.
· Regular and effective communication with the donors, government agencies related to poultry and livestock sectors and maintains healthy relations.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual projects progress reports both narrative and financial relevant to poultry & Livestock components.
· Regular Field visit and update the management about the activities and take necessary initiatives to implement the project activities in time relevant to poultry and Livestock.
· Overall taking care of BRAC hatchery and feed mill. Manage the marketing staff to promote the selling of the produce feeds and others.
· Prepare donor reports related to poultry and livestock as per donors standard and requirement of the BRAC Management.
· Responsible for the training and mentoring of the entire livestock project staff.
· To make budget variance analyses & take decisions and informed the management accordingly.
· To take special initiatives for creating impact on the lives of beneficiaries
Person Specifications:
  • Good Technical knowledge on poultry and livestock
  • Basic skills on resource mobilization and fundraising
  • Very good oral & written communication skills in English
  • Excellent analytical, report writing and presentation skills
  • Strong business understanding and self-learning capacity
  • Ready to work under pressure and stress
  • Must be deadline oriented and committed to assignment
  • Must be able to work with other functional teams
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organisation skills
  • Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
  • Very good understanding about West African context
  • International exposure in different countries.
  • Willing to travel both within and outside Country
Educational Requirements:
  • Minimum Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or BSc in Animal Husbandry from any reputed University/Institute with minimum 2nd division or class or equivalent CGPA in all academic records.
  • Candidates having MBA or relevant master degree will be given preference.
Experience Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in the relevant field of project implementation especially in Poultry and livestock sectors.
