Type of contract: Service contract Duration of contract: 6 months Monthly gross salary: CHF5,670
OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The incumbent, under the overall authority of the IBE Director, and direct supervision of Ruth Creamer, Head of the IBE Documentation Centre, will provide assistance and support in the following: • Assist in the planning of a permanent on-site exhibition of historical materials; • Identify and design research and publication possibilities based on the IBE’s rich collection of historical textbooks and archives currently being digitised. • General administrative work and other tasks, as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor degree ideally in communication, research studies, English language, or related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years in an academic environment. Experience of events management is also desirable.
Skills/Competencies: • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail • Ability to set priorities under pressure • Flexible, upbeat attitude to the job, willingness to learn and enjoying working with a like-minded team • Demonstrated abilities and interest • High personal motivation, self-management, and accuracy • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Languages: • Excellent command of English and/or French, and good working knowledge of the other language; knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Good understanding of IBE main priorities and strategic vision.
