GEOLOGIST - UNCONVENTIONAL

Completions and Stimulation Engineer required for major operating company working on a unconventional reservoirs. Be associated with an industry leading exploration Project.

Our client embarking on a program to develop its world-class unconventional resources and is seeking experienced professionals to join our Unconventional Program.

We have an immediate requirement for experienced Completions and Stimulation Engineers who have experience with designing and executing completed and stimulated unconventional reservoirs. Of primary interest is experience with utilizing cutting edge research in designing multistage fracs in shale gas reservoirs.

As a Completions and Stimulation Engineer in an unconventional asset you will have experience in acquiring, QCing and analyzing data from all available sources, including drilling operations, wireline logs, cores, seismic and specialized studies/research to produce integrated models of unconventional wells in the subsurface.

You will have experience in utilizing these results to design effective stimulation programs and provide answers to key development decisions that impacts well and field performance. You will also be very familiar with other subsurface disciplines and their role in delivering producing unconventional assets.

Minimum Requirements
- An Engineering degree with 15 years of well completions experience, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in fracture stimulation, design, and execution. Experience in fracture stimulation of unconventional reservoirs is required.
- Experience with fracture stimulation modeling software, e.g., Meyer, Stim Plan, Frac Pro and Gopher.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a real team player.
- The ability to read and interpret open hole logs, integrate geomechanics and other data into the design and interpret well test data is an asset.

Other desirable skills include:
- The ability to work with the multidisciplinary team and the simulation service providers, analyze well conditions and provide advice on well completions regarding a stimulation design that optimizes production with consideration for both cost and risk.
- The ability to review completion request to ensure clear objectives are provided and that the planned stimulation is designed to meet this objective.
- The ability to perform both field and real time remote job supervision.
- The ability to develop perforation, flow back, and stimulation best practices and standards in specific areas and formations.
- The ability to conduct root cause analysis for all frac job failures.
- The ability to prepare reports for stimulation operations conducted, including design and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for stimulation and completions.
