The Award Winning Finance Department of the International Secretariat is accountable for approximately €200m of annual global funds raised for human rights work across the world, and play a pivotal role in ensuring Amnesty maximise the effectiveness of our funding to further the cause of improving global human rights.
About the role:
Working alongside the Accounts Payable Manager and Financial Accounting Manager in our London Office, you will play a key part in delivering an excellent service by ensuring payments to staff, suppliers and other beneficiaries are made in a timely fashion. This role is very customer focused as you will be providing information and support for Concur (Travel & Expense Management system) and IPOS (Purchase Order system). This will include being responsible for the monitoring of finance policies and processes through shared ownership of the Purchase Order and Expenses systems with the Accounts Payable Manager as well as dealing with any expenses queries that may arise.
You will be responsible for keeping financial information up to date and accurate, including processing invoices and credit notes, following up on any rejected/queried payments, reconciliations of supplier statements and entering journals. This role will also involve carrying out month and year and tasks such as monitoring the fixed assets, reconciling prepayments and posting accruals. At times you will be asked to provide cover for other members of the Central Finance team and work with the systems accountants on any system upgrades where relevant.
About you:
With proven experience of processing complex multi-currency expense claims and supplier invoices, you are conversant with relevant systems such as Concur, Sun, Vision (Q&A) and/or iPOS (or similar). You are highly organised and have excellent communication and customer care skills, and are highly driven to produce quality results to agreed deadlines. Crucially, you are an effective team worker, efficient and resourceful, and take pride in your organisation and in your work.
Proactively helps colleagues to achieve team priorities and flexibility in how they work, understanding the demands and needs of the organisation and its staff.
Overall, you will achieve success in this role through being extremely organised; a willingness to challenge accepted practice and make continual improvements to our systems; and the ability to build productive relationships with colleagues and our service providers.
