Laboratory technician curriculum design specialist

Chemonics seeks a laboratory technician curriculum design specialist for the ongoing USAID-funded Maldives Global Climate Change (GCC) program. The curriculum design specialist will develop a training course for laboratory technicians to instill the knowledge, understanding, and skills required for sustainable operation, maintenance, and management of water testing laboratories established in the Maldives. The purpose of this assignment is to design, develop, and pretest, in close coordination with the Maldives National University, an in-country laboratory technician certificate course that has international equivalence and local relevance, and includes the training needed to conduct a variety of lab tests. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Qualifications:
  • ​Bachelor's degree in a discipline that includes water laboratory training, environmental laboratory training, or related training modules required 
  • Five years of relevant successful experience in water laboratory training or related course implementation
  • Experience developing or implementing water laboratory technician training courses or knowledge and experience in related field
  • Experience of working with local and international development organizations
  • Able to communicate fluently with different stakeholders, such as civil society, government authorities, beneficiaries, and project staff
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and common internet applications required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
