Short-term ASP14 internship - Photography

The Assembly of States Parties
The CICC coordinates the activities of NGOs during the annual session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP), which will take place from 18 until 26 November 2015 in The Hague, The Netherlands. The ASP will take vital decisions on the functioning of the ICC. With hundreds of representatives, NGOs make up the largest delegation at the ASP. The Internship
If you are interested in volunteering in a collegial and inspiring professional environment; attending high-level human rights meetings at the United Nations with NGO representatives, ICC and government officials from around the world; and have experience working as a professional or amateur photographer, the Coalition is seeking an intern for its Communications section to shoot photos during the ASP meeting. The intern will primarily report to the CICC Head of Communications and will be responsible for shooting photos at official events and meetings. The internship is on a full time basis (40 hours p/week) and must last for the period of the ASP meeting, from 18-26 November 2015. Please note that this internship is unpaid, but the intern will receive photo credits on the Coalition’s website and wherever else his or her photos are used.
Responsibilities
  • Shoot photos during official events and meetings around the ASP; take directions from CICC staff to shoot photos of specific people and/or events.
Qualifications
  • Photography experience; experience shooting at formal or high-profile events a plus;
  • Undergraduate or graduate work towards a degree in Photography or a related field preferred;
  • Interest in photojournalism;
  • Proficiency in English; other languages a plus;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Interest in international justice and NGO work;
  • Affinity with the Coalition’s goals and objectivities;
  • Available from 18 to 26 November
Remuneration
Unfortunately, internships at the CICC are unpaid. We recommend all prospective candidates to seek financial assistance from their academic institutions or seek outside fellowships, grants and personal resources. The CICC cannot sponsor individuals applying for internships to help them obtain visas.
