It’s hard to believe that today 748 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.5 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.
WaterAid is looking to fill the following position in our Sierra Leone office to play a vital role in our mission of transforming lives through provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest and vulnerable communities.
The Finance and Administration Manager would be based in Sierra Leone and head the Finance and Administration Unit in our Sierra Leone office in Freetown.
The jobholder would make field visits to Bonthe, Pujehun and Kenema Districts from time to time, as well as occasional travel to WaterAid Liberia/Sierra Leone Country Office in Monrovia-Liberia and other West African countries as need arises.
As member of the Senior Management Team, the Finance and Admin Manager will provide strategic leadership to the running of the Country Programme and manage staff within the Finance and Administration department. He/she will report directly to the Team Le
Key Responsibilities will include financial planning and control, financial accounting and reporting, grant management, staff management and capacity development including partners support and monitoring, risk management, compliance and audit management to ensure adherence with national legislations and organizational policies.
The Finance and Administration Manager will also manage WaterAid’s cash and non-financial assets, develop and manage financial systems, promote value for money, manage relationship with partners, donors and other WaterAid staff.
Applicants must, amongst other requirements have a university degree in Accountancy and be professionally qualified member of an internationally recognized accounting body e.g. ACCA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or its equivalent.

The programme aims to work in the poorest communities in both countries to ensure access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene - 3 districts in Sierra Leone (Pujehun, Kenema and Bonthe) with a field office in BO. Our operations in Liberia are located in Grand Cape Mount, Maryland, Grand Kru and River Gee.
