UNEP FI is looking for a dynamic Head to lead its work in engaging financial institutions to embed sustainable development practices across their operations. Created in 1992 as a platform linking the United Nations with the financial sector globally, it currently has over 200 members representing Banks, Insurers, and Investors from across the world. UNEP FI works to introduce environmental, social and governance considerations into lending, investing and insurance practice, and contributes the perspectives of financial institutions to the various UN and global activities on sustainable finance. UNEP FI’s mission is to bring about the systematic changes needed across the finance community to ensure a sustainable world as highlighted in its motto, ‘Changing finance, financing change’.
Responsibilities
Position UNEP strategically on issues of sustainable finance by providing the vision and coordination of UNEP FI.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Environmental/Resource or Development Economics.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of experience relating to finance, investment, insurance, economics and environment, five of which should be at an international level.
  • Fluency in English. Working knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
