Background:
Since 2012 the OCTA Bureau, consisting of 4 experts, provides technical and organisational advice and support to the OCTA (http://www.octassociation.org). Its office is located in Brussels.
Job
Description:
TA: provide knowledge and advice to OCT in EU-OCT policy dialogue and cooperation topics focussing on: Climate Change & Biodiversity in OCTs, Renewable Energies, Wastes and water waste management, Dialogue and Exchange of knowledge on environmental issues, to increase OCTs presence, knowledge and participation in EU sector and regional programs.
Mgmt support: moderate OCTAs ENV Working Group, preparation of conference participation, meetings and reporting, etc.
Candidate's profile:
·         Master’s Degree in an environment-related area or equivalent
·         5 years of exp. in the field of environment (incl. climate change, renewable energies, waste management, biodiversity)  in EU and/ or developing countries.
·         EU framework on climate change (policies and financial mechanisms)
·         Knowledge of EU biodiversity policies development and tools and programs such as LIFE+, DCI, BEST,
·         Exp. in working in EU-TA programs, contributing to the preparation of political declarations in the framework of EU events
·         Experience with EU-funded progr., in particular with applications for project
funding (consortium building, project definition, coordination of application process) and programming is highly desirable
·         Familiarity with the environmental policy context in ACP/OCT regions would be an asset.
·         Experience with EDF procedures would be an advantage
·         Experience with small islands and OCTs would be an advantage.
·         Excellent communication skills at all levels, very good understanding of complex international relations
·         Fluency in English and French (oral and written)
