The EU institutions are currently looking for experienced economists in the fields of financial economics and macroeconomics. FINANCIAL ECONOMIST
Main tasks:
- surveillance and analysis of financial markets or market segments of the Member States, the euro area and the EU;
- analysis and assessment of the viability, performance and sustainability of financial institutions and markets in Member States;
- support with drafting and assessment of policies related to the deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union and the regulation of financial markets, institutions and infrastructure;
- development of legislation related to the completion of the Banking Union and the Capital Markets Union.
Qualification and experience required:
To apply for this position, you need either a university degree of at least 4 years in economics, maths, statistics, econometrics or finance, followed by at least 6 years' professional experience in financial or economic matters or in analysis, or a university degree of at least 3 years in the same fields followed by at least 7 years' professional experience.
MACROECONOMIST
Main tasks:
- surveying macroeconomic developments and policies of the Member States, the euro area and the EU;
- preparing economic forecasts;
- conducting empirical analysis or model simulation on economic policies;
- liaising with key international stakeholders.
Qualification and experience required:
To apply for this position, you need either a university degree of at least 4 years in economics, maths or statistics followed by at least 6 years'professional experience in macroeconomics or macroeconomic statistics, or a university degree of at least 3 years from the same fields followed by at least 7 years' professional experience.
For both positions you must be an EU citizen and know at least 2 official EU languages, one at minimum C1 level (thorough knowledge) and the other at minimum B2 level (satisfactory knowledge). One of your languages must be French, English or German.
