AIIB commenced its non-sovereign guaranteed operations in September 2016.
AIIB adheres to sound principles of financing, looking at the financial feasibility, structuring, risks and returns of project proposals. To help AIIB conduct its due diligence on private sector proposals, it is working to recruit professionals with experience in private sector investment banking.
The Private Sector Operations Specialist(s) will be responsible for assisting AIIB’s non-sovereign guaranteed operations. The specific responsibilities of this position are to originate, process, and administer products such as loans, guarantees, and equity investments.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying, evaluating, and developing potential investment project opportunities and maintaining a strong project pipeline for relevant sectors/geographies by interacting with clients, governments, other banks and intermediaries.
- Leading teams of legal and technical experts to effectively and efficiently appraise investment proposals.
- Managing investment projects and providing leadership throughout the full project cycle, ensuring key economic/financial/technical/legal issues are considered and incorporated.
- Continuously monitoring project status and conducting project evaluations to ensure project progress is on track and in compliance with the Bank’s operating policies.
Candidate requirements
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience (minimum 8-10 years for Senior Private Sector Operations Specialist(s)) in the field of infrastructure finance and equity investment.
- Experience in structuring comprehensive solutions across products such as debt, mezzanine, equity, guarantees, etc.
- Strong analytical skills and skill in developing financial models using spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational, English communications (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Russian would be plus (for Division-II).
- Experience in Asia would be an asset.
- Master’s degree or equivalent from a reputable university in a relevant field including finance, economics, management or CFA.
Previous experience and qualifications will dictate the employee level in which an applicant will enter the Bank.
