MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR - MECHANICAL

An exciting new Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor position is available for a leading company in complete life cycle power solutions within West Africa.
 
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for smooth operation and execution of every major PMS and ensure that all works performed are according to manufacturers specification and according to Quality and safety procedures.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a world class maintenance team
- Supervise both mechanical and electrical staff in performing preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems.  
- Overall in charge of major and corrective maintenance and supervise routine work as well as shown in depth knowledge of fault finding. Including engine component evaluation.
- Prepare work report after every completed job and ensure that the data files are completed and current.
- Develop a weekly schedule in determining job priorities and complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
- Develop and implement training program for subordinates.
- Review work planning and scheduling and provides feedback to the maintenance manager to ensure that job plans are efficient and effective.
- Provide hands-on skills to help produce necessary prototypes.
- Directs the maintenance work force and provides onsite expertise.
- Enforces environmental regulations.
- Ensure equipment availability is adequate to meet the profit plan.
- Solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors and tradeoffs.
- Provide technical support to the Mechanical team to ensure correct parts procurement and proper replacement of parts or equipment. And advice store on the management of spare parts stock level.
 
Requirements:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent preferred; Electrical or Mechanical training
- 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in the maintenance and repair of Diesel power plant.
- Medium speed diesel experience
- Supervisory experience  
- Due to government regulations the client is looking to recruit Kenyan Nationals preferably

Job Description:    
-Evaluates and provides reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the company's objectives and goals to be met  
-Reports risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to the COO and indirectly to the CFO or his delegates  
-Designs and leads risk based annual internal audit plans  
-Regular travel to sites  
-Provide guidance and training to all levels in the company    
-Provides recommendations for improving the company's operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance  
-Regular testing and reporting of controls  
-Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures  
-Evaluates regulatory compliance program with consultation from legal counsel  
-Evaluates the company's readiness in case of business interruption  
-Maintains open communication with management and the audit committee  
-Manage and communicate to internal and external stakeholder's as appropriate  
-Engages in continuous education and staff development  
-Provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs    
   
Candidate Requirements:  
-Minimum 6 years experience  
-Certified Internal Auditor    
-Required Certifications: Chartered Accountant  
-Large accounting firm background at senior manager level  
-Experience in the mining industry  
-Strong exposure to Internal Audit and Risk management  
-Ability to liaise across the business effectively, from the executive management team to the site operational teams is essential

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER - LIBERIA

A world leading steel producer with large Iron Ore operations in West Africa are currently looking to hire a Supply Chain Manager for their project in Liberia.    
     
Within the increased responsibility of the Iron Ore Expansion Project:    
- The Supply Chain Manager needs to develop, implement and lead the operational and strategic supply chain activities, in compliance with quality and safety standards and within timeframe and cost optimization.    
- Develop sourcing strategies to support the local mine operations network.    
- Lead the direct and indirect procurement activities and type of sourcing (services, equipment and construction).    
- Lead supplier relationships (including: supplier approval processes, performance evaluations, supplier corrective actions and cost reduction programs).    
- Perform cost analysis for major services, equipment purchase, and most suitable logistics.    
- Support Liberia's sites performance and development, building a sustainable regional procurement organization and in coordination with the group purchasing team for Global Mining procurement activities.    
- The Supply Chain manager is required to organize and plan the transferring process of materials and goods from suppliers and manufacturers to end users.    
- The Supply Chain Manager manages the distribution operations of the mining operations.    
- The Manager needs to work with other professionals, such as logistics contractors, warehouse staff, purchasing officers, and transport clerks to ensure materials are stored correctly and dispatched to customers on time.    
     
Main Responsibilities    
- Coordinate supply chain management with other company functions, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, and quality assurance.    
- Ensure that the Supply Chain Division complies with the Health and Safety rules and regulations for all stakeholder's.    
- Manage continuous improvement and ensure risk analysis are done for operation purchase decisions.    
- Meet group and local Procurement, Policies, Standards and Norms.    
- Coordinate business reviews with strategic suppliers.    
- Ensure proper procurement procedures are in place and followed.    
- Establish reliable and professional relationships with qualified contractors and suppliers.    
- Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost and quality.     
- Determine what is required to make sure the supply chain activities comply with environmental certification standards.      
- Develop or document ways to reduce or mitigate carbon output that results from transporting materials or products.      
- Evaluate inventory tracking technology, web-based warehousing software, or intelligent conveyor systems to make sure the plant or distribution centre is operating as efficiently as possible.    
- Evaluate technologies, such as global positioning systems (GPS), route navigation software, or satellite linkup systems, to improve transportation efficiency.    
- Implement new or improved supply chain processes.    
- Manage activities related to purchasing, material planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.    
- Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.    
- Monitor forecasts to identify changes or to determine how they could affect supply chain activities.    
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.    
- Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.    
- Work with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure materials and products are available.  
- Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste and optimize customer service.  - Develop best-practices across the procurement team.

- The Supply Chain Department consists of 100 people at the 3 different locations.
