Sandvik Materials Technology’s (SMT) unique expertise in materials technology and our excellent people are what make us industry leaders and world-class performers in many markets. We are constantly exploring new ground – making a true difference in many ways.
Business Unit (BU) Oil and Gas, within SMT, is engaged in the development, marketing and sales of corrosion resistant alloys around three core areas - downhole, completions and umbilical control tubing – and our EMEA team manages the sales and marketing activities connected to our product portfolio for the geographical area. With a truly global team, our aim is to be close to the end users, owners of the material specifications and the supply chains utilized in each project and, by applying extensive project tracking and follow-up, the ambition is to supply our SMT materials across the project scope.
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager for the Oil and Gas segment, with location flexible within EMEA, to join us in a role with great potential for future growth and value creation. We offer you multiple opportunities to drive business results, take ownership of projects and business development in new locations and influence the long-term, strategic direction of our operations.
Job Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for supporting the existing sales and marketing team in identifying and entering new markets and new regions, by undertaking route-to-market analysis and managing our go-to-market models. Your initial focus includes establishing a market leading position for control lines, chemical injection lines and wirelines/slick lines in the North Sea area, as well as to analyze new opportunities for Russia and the CIS and develop a long-term plan for targeting African countries. You offer specific support to our sales team regarding development of frame agreement opportunities and packaging of our entire product portfolio, and you are actively engaged in the interaction with potential commercial intermediaries and/or end users.
International travel to the territories included in your area of responsibility is a natural part of your position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant degree or extensive work experience, preferably in Business Management, Business Development or Engineering. You have prior knowledge of the oil and gas industry and of actors in the market area, as well as previous experience of business-to-business sales activities in the field. Experience from working within a service company, as a Key Account Manager, Completion Engineer or Completion Equipment Sales Manager is an advantage. You are familiar with the standard business IT tools, while experience with Dynamics CRM is much appreciated. As we operate internationally, you must have excellent skills in English, both in speaking and writing. Knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
We are sincerely interested in your personal qualities in this recruitment. You are strategic and well organized, planning your work and following up on your activities to meet short and long-term objectives, and you ensure high quality results. With true business acumen, you independently evaluate information, make informed decisions and identify the best possible market opportunities for our operations and products. Working in, and embracing, a fast-paced environment excites you, and you continually implement change in our evolving business landscape. With great communication and strong interpersonal skills, you also have a solid track record of influencing key decision-makers and building and maintaining trustworthy relationships with partners at all levels.
We are a company with an open-minded culture, actively working to create a workplace that is characterized by diversity and inclusion.
