The Water Integrity Network Association is recruiting a dynamic and steadfast Finance and Administration Manager
The Water Integrity Network (WIN) is a small international NGO that engages with partners to increase integrity and reduce corruption in the water sector with a pro-poor and pro-equity focus. Our work encompasses building capacity, developing and implementing integrity tools and influencing decision-makers.
The WIN Secretariat was hosted by Transparency International from 2006 to 2013. In 2014, we became an independent international NGO, WIN e.V. We maintain a strategic partnership with Transparency International. WIN has a small and highly committed team to further our mission in close cooperation with our partners.
WIN e.V. is looking for a Finance and Administration Manager to start at 01 November 2017, to ensure a proper functioning of the Organization.
Duties
The Finance and Administration Manager performs essential functions by ensuring the proper functioning of the support functions at WIN. Given the small size of the organisation, it entails both significant responsibility and hands-on involvement over a wide range of topics.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Financial Management: Ensure that WIN meets required financial management and reporting standards
- Responsible for the complete accounting, including production of annual financial report and ensure the audit
- Payments and VAT-Returns
- Support the preparation of annual Budget and prepare Budget-Actual comparisons
- Contact person for tax advisor, auditor
- Preparation of annual financial statements
- Financial reporting to donors
- Contract Management (partners, consultants, service providers)
2. Human Resources Administration: Ensure that the WIN complies with the German employment law and regulations of human resources administration
- Administrative contact person for staff members in all aspects of the work contract, including employment contract, work permit, managing payroll
- Maintain the personnel files
- Coordination, excution and compliance with all processes relating to Human Ressources
3. General Management: Provide advice and other practical support for the furtherance of WIN core functions
- Property/office management, including ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Standards
- Manage insurance policies, ensuring appropriate cover
- Maintenance of the Organizational Manual (internal rules and procedures)
- Contribute to strategic and work planning
- Manage WIN IT infrastructure and archiving on the server
Required knowledge, experience and skills
Essential
The Finance & Administration Manager must have proven competence in the following areas:
- Education: Partly/Fully qualified Accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or University study in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business
- Bookkeeping and accounting
- Budget monitoring and financial reporting, including to international donor agencies
- Knowledge of German employment and tax law
- Written and spoken English
- Working Knowledge of German
- Demonstrated self-learning /problem solving capacity
- Pragmatic and flexible service-orientation
- Team player
- Commitment to WIN’s mission and vision
- At least three years’ experience administering a small office or business
- Professional integrity and commitment
Preferred
- Knowledge of international NGO operations
- Experience in an organisation based in Germany
- Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and Spanish
Summary
Job Title: Finance and Administration Manager
Contract: Full time position (part-time possible if preferred, at least 75 %), 2 year contract at the beginning
Main function: Responsibility for and execution of finance, HRM and office management functions for the WIN Secretariat
Location: WIN e.V., Berlin, Germany
Reporting lines: Reporting to the WIN Programme Manger
Starting date: 01 November 2017
Remuneration: According to WIN e.V. salary scales, grade III. Relocation allowance according to WIN e.V. rules.
