Location: Ethiopia/ Kenya/ Mozambique/ Tanzania with extensive regional travel
HelpAge International (www.helpage.org) is the secretariat to the HelpAge Global Network, which brings together a wide range of organisations and individuals working to promote the rights and meet the needs of older women and men, nationally and/or internationally.
In Africa Region, we will deliver this through a combination of programme, policy and communications work focused on our core themes of social protection, health and care. To achieve these objectives, HelpAge International Africa Region is seeking to hire a Regional Programme Manager for Grants and Fundraising.
The post-holder will develop & implement an Africa wide resource mobilisation plan to grow and sustain income, efficient management of all donor contracts, work together with teams to develop programmes and quality proposals, develop strategic partnerships for fundraising and provide resource mobilisation support to network members.
He/she will have significant experience in resource mobilisation in a competitive environment and niche issue, experience in leading donor engagement and consortium building, proven experience of working with major donors and capacity building.
Focal points of cross-cutting themes
HelpAge International, Africa region is also currently looking for applicants who are interested and able to take on the role as focal points for (1) gender, (2) disability and (3) accountability. These themes are identified as organizational priorities and relevant policy frameworks and guidelines have been developed for the same. These are not full time roles, but rather an opportunity for individuals in the above-advertised position to provide leadership on issues they have experience on and are interested in, and will be embedded in their roles with clear objectives.
