WaterAid is an international NGO providing safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the world’s poorest communities. We have set a 2030 target for everyone, everywhere to have safe water, sanitation and hygiene, but to achieve this, we need you to help. We are currently seeking a Director of Finance and IT to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives of the world’s poorest people.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and being a vital part of WaterAid’s senior leadership, you will lead a small and highly capable team across finance and IT to develop and implement a strategy for financial sustainability. As a key executive you will work to deliver on our ambitions as an organisation and also contribute to WaterAid’s Global Strategy. With oversight of the risk management systems and policies and procedures you will also lead all compliance work including supporting the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Board in the role of Company Secretary.
Highly regarded as a values driven leader you have a proven track record in managing finance and support functions of an organisation and ideally hold a formal qualification such as CPA or CA. You consider your key strengths to be your relationship management and influencing skills and aren’t afraid to work at both strategic and operational levels. Prior Company Secretary experience will be looked upon favourably as well as any experience with SUN systems and QuickBooks, but not essential. This is a great opportunity to help transform the lives of the world’s poorest and most marginalised people by improving their access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
WaterAid supports staff by providing flexible working arrangements, additional time off over the Christmas holidays, access to an Employee Assistance Program, travel recovery days, purchase leave options and most importantly a great team environment with supportive leadership.
