The Geneva office of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC Geneva) leads NRC’s representation with the IASC and UN agencies, and coordinates donor engagement with the UN and Swiss donors. NRC requires consistent and targeted engagement with institutional partners to identify partnership opportunities, raise funds and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

The Intern will support NRC’s Institutional Partnerships Advisers team, in the areas of program support, partnership brokering, fundraising and information management. The Intern will provide administrative and logistical support to the Institutional Partnerships Advisers (IPAs). The Intern will be expected to work closely with other members of the Geneva team to ensure the production of timely meeting minutes, preparatory documentation and draft reports.
Job description
- Mapping out, through desk review, NRC current partnership with WFP, UNICEF, FAO and Swiss Cooperation
- Maintain an updated database of concept notes, proposal submitted and agreements signed with UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF, FAO and Swiss Government
- Monitor UNHCR website for funding opportunities
- Carry out a mapping exercise of the architecture of the Swiss Government structure engaged in humanitarian aid, development and migration issues
- Systematize information available in terms of donor funding rules and regulations for relevant donors
- Attend relevant meetings and write related minutes upon request from the IPAs
- Follow up on latest developments related to partnerships, program and funding opportunities
- Any other tasks assigned by the IPAs or other NRC staff
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or currently enrolled with a completed Bachelor’s degree in International Relations or another relevant field
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in French is an advantage
- Proven research, analytical and documentation skills
