As the elected head of the City of London Corporation, the Lord Mayor is a major spokesperson and senior representative for the City, travelling widely and receiving many foreign government and business delegations in London. A key responsibility is to promote the UK-based financial services industry and related businesses, both at home and abroad. Accompanying the Lord Mayor is part of the role. As a key member of the Mansion House departmental management group, the Senior Programme Manager will help develop new ideas and activities to support the Lord Mayor’s role and profile, and will deputise, as necessary, for the Head of Programmes and on occasions the Private Secretary and Chief of Staff on matters concerning the Lord Mayor’s programme.
Applicants will have proven organisational and planning skills and an aptitude for working collaboratively with both senior and junior colleagues. They will have direct experience of organising business-oriented activities, preferably in a Ministerial private office or VIP business environment.
