We are now seeking to fill the position of Education Evaluator. We are looking for an expert evaluator with experience in education who can present an objective and robust assessment of a girls' education project. The final evaluation will form part of an international series of evaluations on girls’ education programming. This position is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with seven to ten years of experience who is eager to be a team leader and involved in all aspects of monitoring and evaluation, and who would thrive in a collaborative, diverse, diligent working environment in Ethiopia.
Reports to: Programme Director
Duration: Six months initially and possibility of extension based on performance
Place: Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) with travel to Afar
Position Summary: The Education Evaluator will lead an endline evaluation of a girls’ education project in Afar, Ethiopia.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare project evaluation, i.e. endline survey, by fine-tuning data collection tools and protocols, recruiting supervisors and enumerators, facilitating training for supervisors and enumerators on quantitative and qualitative tools and methods.
- Support the implementation of project evaluation by supervising field work, back stopping any field issues and working with data team as data comes in to fix any problems.
- Assess and document data quality and data limitations and define steps to address limitations.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess project’s impact, effectiveness and sustainability.
- Produce a high-quality endline report.
Qualifications
- Masters or Ph.D. in Education, education-related field or monitoring and evaluation.
- Strong knowledge in education monitoring and evaluation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently as well as part of a fast-paced team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic (Afarigna an advantage).
- Strong computer and data processing/analysis skills (SPSS).
