Creative Associates is implementing a new five-year, USAID-funded program project with the aim to improve early grade reading outcomes in the target provinces of Nampula and Zambézia. The project will focus on three main areas of intervention to achieve its goal to improve students’ reading fluency and comprehension in the mother tongue by the end of their second year of school: 1) improve the quality of reading instruction at the early primary level, 2) improve policy frameworks and delivery systems for early grade reading, and 3) increase parental and community engagement in early grade reading.
Candidates with prior experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Early grade reading (multilingual).
- Curriculum materials development.
- Teacher training and coaching.
- School management.
- Capacity building and training.
- Community mobilization, advocacy.
- Gender empowerment.
- Communications.
- Monitoring and evaluation.
- Finance and grants management.
- Logistics and operations.
General Requirements:
- Degree in education or one of the above stated technical fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience on USAID and/ international donor programs highly desirable.
- Good communication and reporting skills – both written and oral.
- Excellent team working skills, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Portuguese language required.
- English language skills preferred. Local language skills preferred for early grade reading, curriculum and training positions.
