Under the supervision of the Director Special Assignments, the Senior Project Manager acts as focal point for the Sudan and Horn of Africa projects.
Main tasks:
- Manage the overall functioning of the Sudan National Dialogue project and Horn of Africa project
- Liaise with respective partner(s), Sudanese and external experts, Sudanese organisations, Sudanese political parties and approach international organisations
- Support in the development of new projects in the greater Horn of Africa region
- Lead in narrative reporting with assistance from the project manager and project assistant
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise and work experience (~ 5 years and more) in the field of political mediation, negotiation, dialogue, political transitions and governance
- Excellent knowledge of and proven work experience in Sudan. Experience in the Horn Africa region is also desirable
- MA degree or equivalent in political science, peace and security studies or related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one other language (German and/or Arabic)

The position will be a full time position (40hrs/week) based in Berlin, Germany for a period of 12 months (extendable).
