The Director - Household Economic Strengthening will oversee all activities and targets associated with improving the economic stability of households caring for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and other marginalized groups under CRS Health Sector. Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive household economic strengthening component, including saving and internal lending communities, consumption support and/or income generating activities, with an emphasis on age-appropriate and gender-responsive activities. Responsible for ensuring the technical approach employed aligns with industry standards, and donor and GOK requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:**
· Master’s Degree or higher in social sciences, social work, or a closely related field is required.
· 8+ years professional experience, with at least 3-5 years’ experience managing large USAID funded development programs.
· S/he must have at least three years’ experience in savings-led microfinance models (e.g. SILC, Village Savings and Loans – VSL; Community-based Savings for Empowerment – COSAVE; Saving for Change etc)
· Experience in programming in economic strengthening/growth such as social assistance, asset growth and protection through savings-led microfinance and micro-insurance, income growth through skills training, market & institutional linkages, jobs creation with a focus on vulnerable populations especially orphans and vulnerable children, youth and women.
· Familiarity with concepts of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) relevant to this sector, experience designing and using household vulnerability assessment tools and SAVIX MIS a plus.
· Experience in building and maintaining productive relations with implementing and strategic partner agencies.
· Knowledge and understanding, as well as prior experience, with PEFPAR Economic Strengthening guidelines and/or USAID funded projects.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for-profit private sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholders, particularly at the sub-national level.
· Demonstrated proactive leadership ability, as well as supervisory and HR management experience.
