The company
Ignitia is an entrepreneur led business that offers critical decision support in West Africa. Based on several years of development and market traction, our science-based innovation is designed for the agriculture sector. We have developed a weather forecasting model for the tropics that is twice as accurate as existing models, allowing us to provide daily, monthly, and seasonal forecasts for farmers in the developing world. Using our forecasts, small-scale farmers have the ability to double yields and incomes, reducing food insecurity and poverty for some of the poorest in the world.
To date we have reached over 80,000 farmers and are on track to reach 1 million in the next 3 years! Due to our pioneering position and proven track record we now offer the right person the opportunity to grow with the company internationally.
The position
Your responsibility will be to manage Ignitia’s offices and operations across West Africa.
The ideal candidate:
- is highly organized with excellent, proven management skills
- can efficiently coordinate a wide variety of activities
- has a history working in telecommunications industry
- is driven and confident in leading his or her own work
- has a team player attitude in line with the company
- has a positive, confident and determined approach
- is resilient and has an ability to focus on the business
- is fluent in spoken and written English and French
The main task will be to efficiently manage and coordinate Ignitia’s activities as we expand into new markets in West Africa. You will be responsible for advising management on issues of corporate significance and will play a major role in resource allocations among offices. We would like to see that you are an incredibly agile organizer, and can manage many competing priorities at the same time. An important part of your role will be to work closely with our management team in order to improve and optimize the business processes and operations.
