INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING SENIOR EXPERT, ZAMBIA WASH

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
International Resources Group (IRG), an Engility Company and holder of the USAID Water and Development IDIQ, seeks an experienced Institutional Strengthening Senior Expert for an anticipatedUSAID-funded Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program in Zambia. Program objectives include, but are not limited to, WASH initiatives centered on school-led water, sanitation and hygiene education, menstrual hygiene management, behavior change, and institutional strengthening. This position will support WASH-related policy development, strategic planning, and institutional strengthening at the national level. This position will be based in Lusaka, Zambia, with moderate in-country travel required.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • National-level policy development and/or Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) institutional capacity building experience.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with the GRZ at the national level, including the Ministry of Education and/or the Ministry of Local Government and Housing.
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) knowledge strongly preferred, including program development experience working on community led total sanitation (CLTS) activities, behavior change promotion, WASH in Schools, hygiene education program design, and/or private sector WASH capacity building.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as public health, international development, water and sanitation, economics, or other relevant areas.
  • Strong existing relationships and connections with key GRZ counterparts, the international donor community, and/or national-level entities relevant to the water and sanitation sectors.
  • Fluency in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as public health, international development, water and sanitation, economics, or other relevant areas.
