Consultant Business Analyst SAP Finance & Budget (FFR), RMTD

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Business Analyst SAP Finance and Budget, based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Head of Business Analysis, the Business Analyst will be responsible to investigate business systems, analyze business processes of business enterprises, identify bottlenecks in efficient running of those processes, suggest solutions for improvement and modifications and, more particularly, work in association with an Enterprise Architect, Functional system experts and Technology implementation heads to align business goals of the business enterprise with implementation of IT solutions. Specific duties include:
* Applying strong knowledge of business processes for supporting, maintaining and optimizing the SAP FI, PS, GM and BCS modules and provide analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and development support to end-users, business process owners and other functional areas
* Ensure availability and share timely information with both internal and external parties.
* Represent and align general ledger accounting, account payable, contribution receivable, treasury and project, PSA and extra-budgetary budgeting business functions and related IT solution.
* Develop effective relationships with Process Experts and Business Process Owners, seeking to establish and promote partnerships to ensure comprehensive delivery of IT solutions within the business area;
* Identify and anticipate needs, providing IT solutions to the business area to improve business effectiveness and efficiency;
* Undertake analysis of assigned WFP business processes within the business area, defining application system requirements, and develop the necessary solution document, ensuring alignment of systems with business strategies;
* Design, develop, document, test, deploy and maintain application systems within the business area, either directly or through the implementing partner. Interface software with IT solutions and productivity tools;
* Identify integration points within the IT system for the business area and coordinate with business experts to deliver efficiency gains at a system level and across business areas;
* Provide ongoing support to WFP’s IT systems within the business area, monitoring problem resolution and bug-fixing, application changes and enhancements;
* Manage improvements for WFP’s IT systems within the business area, overseeing the evaluation, execution, testing, verification, acceptance and deployment of the requested solution.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
* Advanced University Degree and/or advanced courses/training with emphasis in one or more of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or another related technical field.
Experience:
* Minimum 6 years post graduate, progressively responsible professional experience as Business Analyst or Solutions Architect within an organisation and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of IT applications.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Business analysis: creation and review of business, functional and non-functional requirements for IT solutions.
* IT solution development: Requirements, Design, Development, Implementation
* Research and Analysis: Best practise, Gartner, etc.
* Experience as a Business Analyst in at least 2 entire project cycles.
* Deep experience in the following matters: SAP Finance, Controlling, Project System, Grant Management and Budget Control System modules design and configuration.
Competencies:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Excellent research skills.
* Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is crucial.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment.
Language:
* Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
