Call for Local Sudanese Associate Trainers based in Sudan

RedR UK Khartoum Country Office is looking for experienced, qualified training professionals to join RedR Sudan’s pool of Associate Trainers (ATs) to contribute to our programme of capacity building for humanitarian workers. Associate Trainers are listed on RedR’s consultant database and offered training work as and when needed on a daily rate payment basis. RedR cannot guarantee regular training opportunities, however, given current levels of demand we anticipate there will be many opportunities.
Our Associate Trainers are engaged in many ways, including development of new training materials, delivery of training courses and organisation and facilitation of capacity building events.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who have:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in one or several from the required technical/specialist and or functional competencies, or in the required training thematic areas mentioned gained from working within the humanitarian NGO sector in Sudan.
- At least 2 years of humanitarian field experience of working in emergency situations, implementing programmes in emergencies, or working directly with disaster affected populations.
- Excellent understanding of the core humanitarian competencies.
- Excellent skills in training delivery, particularly adult learning courses for a professional audience, using participatory approaches and interactive learning.
- A high level of expertise in a particular area we provide training in.
- A high level of experience of working in inter-cultural environments with participants from cultures other than their own.
- Are available for short-term assignments on a regular basis
- Are willing to travel and work throughout Sudan
** We are particularly interested in individuals who are currently based in one of the five Darfur States
We are looking for trainers with experience and proficiency in one or several of the following areas:
· Project cycle management including needs assessments
· Monitoring and evaluation
· Technical/Specialists areas -- WASH, Disaster Risk Management, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Welfare and counselling
· Humanitarian principles and standards
· Peace building and conflict analysis
· Safety and Security management
· Logistics and supply chain management
· Functional areas – NGO finance Management and Human Resource Management
· Information management
You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to facilitate workshops, manage group dynamics, enable groups to learn together and design and/or revise training curriculum.
RedR UK Khartoum has identified the following proficiencies as being desirable in its training teams:
- Identify learning needs of Humanitarian/ Development Sector, including organisations and individuals
- Develop effective training courses that address needs identified levels (this may include learning materials for participants and training documents for other trainers)
- Use lessons learned from previous courses to inform course design
- Effectively facilitate a training event and training sessions, using experiential and active learning activities, engaging with participants learning style
- Work in collaborative relationships with other trainers
- Assess participant’s learning & use evaluation feedback during the course to adjust training delivery and inform course design and facilitation for future training delivery
What RedR offers
If successful in the assessment, and after training at least twice with an experienced RedR trainer, we will add you to our Associate Trainer database. When we have a training in a particular area, we contact the Associate Trainers that have expertise in the topic of the training and select the best suited AT for the assignment. The number of trainings that an AT conducts for us in a year varies greatly, and depends amongst other things on how often we train on that particular topic in a particular location. RedR contracts ATs as Consultants on a fixed daily rate. We are committed to strengthening local training capacity and support our new and existing trainers to further develop professionally as a trainer.
