International Transformation Foundation (ITF) is a youth led non-profit organization providing youth educational and self- development programmes encompassing leadership and entrepreneurship to harness creativity for youth system that provide jobs; offering security, opportunities to grow and contribute to the development of our communities.
International Transformation Foundation (ITF) has been nurturing youths through distinctive projects encompassing leadership and entrepreneurship for self development among the youths. ITF have only been operating in Kenya, with it’s main goal to operate in Africa as a continent by opening up branches offices. This year ITF aims at opening up a new and first branch in Muhanga, Rwanda for any further information about ITF and our projects visit our website www.itfsecretariat.org .
Public Relations Assistant
Reporting to Country Secretary the “Public Relations Assistant” is responsible of all in country linkages including coordination of marketing, fundraising and communications activities. He/she uses a wide range of strategies to build and sustain good relationships between the organization and its members, beneficiaries and partners. His/her job is to secure additional funding to enable the continuing work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate, coordinate and act as primary point-of-contact for all in country affairs and linkages including:
  2. Establishing new relationships with other organizations; individuals; communities and government.
  3. Develop, review, and enhance content for print, electronic, social media platforms and website to communicate information to members, volunteers and other stakeholders.
  4. Develop and execute a fundraising action plan/strategy for ITF Rwanda projects financing:
  5. Identify potential funding opportunities/sources;
  6. Prepare Grants proposals.
  7. Develop and implement organizational PR strategies including generating news releases and communicate to media as well as handling publicity activities for ITF.
  8. Track, monitor and evaluate PR strategies, Public and media impressions.
  9. Design and implement research data to support program/project.
  10. Organize and evaluate PR and fundraising events as well as representing ITF in such events.
  11. Hire, train/mentor, supervise, and evaluate department (PR) volunteer staffs,
  12. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Basic Knowledge &Skills required:
The Applicant must possess or is extremely eager to learn and passionate about the following knowledge/skills and is able to demonstrate, that the essential functions of this position can be performed:
  1. Hold at least a Bachelors Degree in related fields such as International Relations; Communications, marketing etc,
  2. Possess knowledge in current issues and best practices relating to international youth development;
  3. Ability to come up with creative ideas for communication and promotional materials, fundraising, identify potential opportunities for raising funds and write grant proposals,
  4. Have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing (minimally in English), Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work with individuals from different cultures,
  5. Possess basic computer skills including graphic communication and social media management,
  6. Ability to maintain an established work schedule, with or without flexibility,
  7. Strong organizational and management skills- ability to multi task and prioritize,
  8. Motivated to learn and take on new challenges’
  9. Willingness and capacity to volunteer’
  10. Unparalleled passion and commitment for youth & community development.
Compensation:
Although ITF Volunteer staffs enjoy limitless opportunities, ITF does NOT provide any kind of compensation. ITF Staffs operates on full time volunteer basis for a minimum of 3 months contract. They are responsible of all basic expenses such as home – office transportation, accommodation etc. ITF ONLY provide direct operational expenses such as Staff’s transportation to a meeting outside office, visit field operations etc.
