Consultant Business Analyst, SAP Logistics Area (LESS), RMTD

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Business Analyst, SAP Logistics Area, based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Head of Business Analysis (RMTD), the Business Analyst is expected to work as part of a project team led by the IT Delivery Manager, in close collaboration with the LESS Product Team. As part of the project team, the Business Analyst is responsible to support the design, implementation, evolution and support of the functionality and integrity of LESS food tracking System.
In particular, the Business Analyst will provide experience and competent functional support to Wings II (SAP) supply chain management system, primarily in the areas of Transportation, Inventory and Warehouse management. The key duties are as follows:
* Review requirements liaising with stakeholders from Logistics
* Undertake detailed analysis of assigned WFP logistics business processes
* Validating the technical and functional specifications
* Ensuring alignment of systems with business strategies
* Performing quality assurance of design and implementation of solution proposed by the implementing partner contracted for the LESS Project
* Identifying integration points within the Wings system and coordinate with LESS project manager to deliver efficiency gains at a system level and across functional units
* Resolving system configuration and performance issues
* Undertake feasibility studies and detailed analysis for the LESS project
* Analysing and validating technical proposals and related software and services
* Planning and scheduling timeline and milestones using appropriate tools.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
* Advanced University Degree and/or advanced courses/training with emphasis in one or more of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or another related technical field.
Experience:
* Minimum 6 years post graduate, progressively responsible professional experience as Business Analyst or Solutions Architect within an organisation and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of IT applications.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Business analysis: creation and review of business, functional and non-functional requirements for IT solutions
* IT solution development: Requirements, Design, Development, Implementation
* Research and Analysis: Best practise, Gartner, etc.
* Experience as a Business Analyst in at least 2 entire project cycles
* Deep experience in the following matters: LESS Logistics Solution in SAP, SAP Logistics Best Practices, Configuration of the standard SAP LE System, LE-WMS and LE-Mobile.
Competencies:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Excellent research skills
* Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is crucial
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment
Language:
* Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
