We work in over 55 countries and have two operations divisions:
- Humanitarian Action Division
- Development Division
At the request of the flying staff Pool manager, you will be deployed on Humanitarian Action Division (DAH) missions for a period of 1 to 4 months maximum. You will organise your rest & recuperation and leave periods between missions.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
As a flying Technical Coordinator in the field of psychosocial support, your main objective will be to cover – on an interim basis - the duties of a Psychosocial Support Technical Coordinator according to the needs of the different DAH missions. You will be under the hierarchical line-management of the Technical Unit Coordinator or the Operations Coordinator (depending on the mission’s organisational set-up) and under the functional line-management of the headquarters PSS/Protection Adviser.

MAIN DUTIES:
The flying Psychosocial Support Technical Coordinator oversees approaches and responses in the area of "Specific Needs", with a special focus on psychosocial interventions, mental health and prevention, while maintaining a global vision of the response to specific needs which generally includes the Physical and Functional Rehabilitation sector. He/she also works on access to humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable.

1/Guaranteeing the mission’s technical and strategic framework governing the response to specific needs in the fields of mental health and psychosocial support:
-Provide technical, strategic and methodological advice on the different phases in the project life cycle and/or on national policies and strategies by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with project managers and partners
-Provide advice to project managers on the monitoring and evaluation of project implementation
-Assist with the analysis of the recommendations made in any evaluations carried out and with their implementation
-Facilitate links, discussions and skills-sharing between the different projects and internal/external actors in the PSS/mental health field. With the help of other mission staff, identify local external competencies and expertise that could contribute the quality of the project
-Help with drafting the projects’ multi-annual strategies and/or annual implementation plans

-Act as the programme’s PSS/mental health resource person for internal or external interlocutors and partners
-Represent and defend HI’s strategic and political choices as applied to cross-cutting projects and approaches

3/Reporting and knowledge capitalisation:
-Define a knowledge capitalisation method with the help of the Technical Coordination
-Collect & organise the collection of the necessary data based on the criteria and indicators given in this method
-Carry out or oversee the analysis of this data
-Inform the projects’ partners of the results

4/Training and support for human resources:
-At the request of the project manager(s), provide an opinion on the recruitment
-train HI’s personnel and partners in approaches and technical and strategic aspects

REQUIRED PROFILE
• Diploma in psychology
• At least five years’ experience of working in the field of psychosocial support for vulnerable people
• Sound experience of aid work with international organisations in a similar position
• Knowledge of the management and/or coordination of projects in the mental health, psychosocial support or protection sectors
• Ability to design and produce tools, methods and procedures
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent knowledge transfer skills (training, support)
You have sound knowledge of:
• French and English and the Windows operating system

SALARY
• Start: 2nd of January, 2017
• Status: 12-month renewable fixed-term international contract
• Starting salary: €2,700 gross per month, according to experience
• Monthly per diem according to the country of assignment
• Monthly availability allowance of €310 gross
• Hardship allowance paid in proportion of the days spent in the location (if existing in the country of assignment)
