Youth Challenge International (YCI) is recruiting one Youth Innovator for a partner capacity building project in Accra, Ghana.
This exciting opportunity will include a pre-project distance-learning program, followed by an intensive four-week placement in Accra. While in country, the Youth Innovator will provide technical expertise to YCI’s field staff and the Entrepreneurship Training Institute (ETI).
Partner Organization Information:
The Entrepreneurship Training Institute (ETI) is a University college in Ghana that has mainstreamed teaching entrepreneurship into all of its courses. Developing entrepreneurially educated students at ETI dates back to 2005 when the Association of Certified Entrepreneurs was launched. The founding members at the time wanted to address the challenge of short supply of entrepreneurially educated students.
In 2013, YCI facilitated the participation of ETI in the LEADER Project, in which ETI hosted four instructors from the Richard Ivey School of Business. To date, approximately 40 selected students and alumni from ETI have participated in entrepreneurship training and coaching sessions under the LEADER Project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Follow up with all participants of the LEADER Project to document the benefits and challenges they have experienced since participating in the training.
• Develop a system that can be used to better track progress of current and future participants in the project.
• Hand over the M&E system documents to YCI and ETI and train staff on how to use the new M&E system.
Your Skills and Experience:
• Relevant background in business, social sciences, international development, public administration
• 1+ years work experience working in monitoring & evaluation, including experience developing M&E indicators and plan
• Experience facilitating trainings and workshops
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Prior cross-cultural experience and strong inter-cultural communication skills
Fundraising Goal:
YCI volunteers are required to fundraise and/or contribute a minimum of $600 for these projects to contribute towards YCI’s global youth development programs.
