2015 Coca-Cola MENA Scholarship

The application for the Coca-Cola MENA Scholarship Program is now open. The Coca-Cola Company & the US Department of State have once again partnered to sponsor 100 university students from across the Middle East, North Africa and Near Asia to attend a month-long summer entrepreneurship program at Indiana University’s prestigious Kelley School of Business, one of the top ranked business programs in the United States. This multi-faceted, immersion scholarship program is designed to give a group of students the opportunity to learn about business education through an accelerated curriculum.
The program, which begins in late June 2015, is fully funded including travel to and within the United States, accommodations, meals, and university and visa fees. Please note that the program will take place during Ramadan and that the travel dates can’t be amended. Indiana University is well aware of Ramadan and will make accommodations for attending scholarship winners.
Eligibility
All Candidates must :
  • Have nationality and currently reside in one of the following countries from which you are applying and must have a valid passport for international travel.
    • Algeria
    • Egypt
    • Jordan
    • Morocco
    • Palestine
    • Tunisia
  • Have zero or limited travel experience to the United States.
  • Be currently enrolled in a university and between the ages of 18-24 years old
  • Be fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Be able to travel from June 20th through July 25th
Please note that Ramadan will take place during the majority of the program dates and that the travel dates can’t be amended. Indiana University is well aware of Ramadan and will make accommodations for attending scholarship winners.

TEAM LEADER FOR MOROCCO FAVORABLE OPPORTUNITIES TO REINFORCE SELF-ADVANCEMENT FOR TODAY’S YOUTH (FORSATY)

PROJECT SUMMARY
IBTCI is vying for a contract to conduct a mid-term performance evaluation of USAID/Morocco’s Favorable Opportunities to Reinforce Self-Advancement for Today’s Youth (FORSATY). This evaluation will serve the following purposes:
· Provide the mission with concrete evidence regarding to what extent to which FORSATY achieved its objectives through December 2014;
· Determine any recommended mid-course adjustments for the program to improve results moving forward, particularly focusing on the capacity strengthening of CSOs;
· To inform how this project would be best replicated in other regions of Morocco.
The primary task of the evaluation team will be to analyze the performance of FORSATY midway through program implementation and make recommendations for improvements in ongoing and future programming. This evaluation will cover the period from the award date through December 2014. The USAID/Morocco Mission, specifically the Office of Democracy and Governance, will use the analysis of this evaluation to guide the direction of FORSATY in the remaining project life. The implementing partner, IOM, will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of project activities to date and adjust the upcoming work-plan based on the evaluation recommendations.
Period of Performance: 7 weeks including 3 weeks of fieldwork; February 28 start date
TEAM LEADER POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Team Leader will lead the evaluation and direct/manage a team of one local research/logistic assistants, and one subject matter experts in youth development. The Team Leader will be responsible for periodically briefing USAID/Morocco of the team’s progress. S/he must also debrief USAID/Morocco on findings and results and submit all deliverables including a detailed work plan, presentation of results, and drafts of final reports. S/he will also provide USAID with raw datasets.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Team Leader must have the following skills/experience:
· Experience in evaluation and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)
· Knowledge of the Moroccan socio-economic and political environment, and USG foreign policy and foreign assistance programming
· Experience working as a part of, as well as leading, democracy and governance evaluation teams and writing analytic but actionable reports in a clear, coherent and compelling way
· The ability to speak and write in English is required
· French and/or Arabic is desirable

Program Coordinator

The Open Society Foundations work to build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens. The Open Society Foundations’ Arab Regional Office (ARO) was established in 2006 to support local civil society in its efforts to protect human rights and build vibrant and tolerant societies. Based in Amman and with a satellite office in Tunis, ARO supports a diverse group of civil society organizations, research centers, universities, and media organizations across the Arab world in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Tunisia.  
Reporting jointly to the senior program officer for Media & Information in New York, the program coordinator would be responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support to the program and will be working closely with ARO staff to support the civil society more broadly in the Arab Region.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with management and oversight of grants and projects awarded under the Arab Regional Office’s Media & Information program;
  • Review grant proposals and prepare grant summaries; work directly with grant applicants and grantees on the development of proposals and grant applications;
  • Monitor grants through review of narrative and financial reports and other communications with grantees;
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of the Media & Information program strategy;
  • Maintain program documentation and databases; provide administrative support for the management of grants in the program portfolio;
  • Draft/edit correspondences and memoranda, letters to grant applicants, grant documentation, and grant dockets;
  • Support and oversee grantees’ work and related capacity building;
  • Liaise with grantees through country visits and perform site visits of prospective and current grantees while providing professional representation;
  • When travelling, manage logistics and organization of meetings;
  • Conduct research using web tools to search public sources, as well as conducting research on issues, organizations, and other matters and compile that research into concise, relevant material;
  • As needed, contribute blogs, publications, and articles on program-related subject matters;
  • Provide administrative support and assist with office activities of the Arab Regional Office such as organizing ARO board meetings and special events in Jordan and abroad; handling meeting logistics; and managing travel and accommodation and other duties as requested.
  • Draft internal correspondence, meeting agendas, and other materials.
Education / Experience
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the area of media development, human rights, and/or freedom of expression; 
  • Working experience in an international organization and on grant making will be an advantage;
  • A university or postgraduate degree in journalism, law, human rights, social sciences or other relevant area of study;
  • Proven research skills are an advantage;
  • NGO or foundation experience preferred.
Skills Required
  • Knowledge and familiarity of independent media and freedom of expression issues in the Arab region;
  • Fluency in Arabic and English; excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of French is an advantage;
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Windows 7 and experience with internet research;
  • Superior interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills with sensitivity to cultural communication differences;
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, to troubleshoot and follow projects through to completion, consistently on schedule, without loss of attention to detail and budget;
  • Integrity and professional discretion.
  • Ability to travel within the Arab region and internationally.
  • Show discretion and ability to handle confidential issues;
  • High level of self-motivation and at ease working independently when necessary;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects and ability to prioritize tasks;

2015 Young Leaders Visitors Programme for North Africans at Swedish Institute’s

The Swedish Institute’s Young Leaders Visitors Programme (YLVP) is an intercultural leadership programme that aims to lay a foundation for dialogue and knowledge sharing among young leaders from the Middle East, North Africa and Sweden.
The YLVP is designed to provide the participants with new skills, broadened networks and innovative tools to strengthen their work to drive social change in their respective contexts.
The participants are visionaries who are in a position to make a difference. They are young, open-minded leaders in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank-Gaza*, Yemen and Sweden who are actively working for democracy and human rights within the spheres of society, culture, politics and media.

Who can apply to YLVP?

To apply to Young Leaders Visitors Programme you have to:
  • Be an engaged leader within the spheres of society, culture, politics or media (for example project managers, youth leaders, journalists, bloggers, activists, youth politicians, cultural workers, civil servants, lawyers and pedagogues).
  • Work actively for democracy and human rights.
  • Be between 20-32 years old (at the time of the start of the programme).
  • Have a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
  • A citizen of Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank-Gaza*, Yemen or Sweden
The programme comprises of four weeks of intensive work divided into two modules:
Module 1: YLVP in Sweden (17 May-5 June, 2015) 
This module offers experience-based intercultural leadership training and personal as well as group development. It also involves advanced hands-on training with the use of cutting-edge social media tools. Exchange of experiences and creative strategies in the work for social change takes place through seminars and workshops with facilitators working actively in these fields.
Module 2: YLVP in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region (21-27 November, 2015) 
Module 2 offers an opportunity to maintain, build and expand your network. All participants will meet again in one of the participating MENA countries to continue the exchange and follow up the development of their work.
Benefits

Accommodation, food and travel

All costs related to accommodation, food and transport during the YLVP are covered by the Swedish Institute. The Swedish Institute will also arrange and pay for your air travel to and from Sweden and to the location of the second module of the programme in the MENA region. Participants are themselves responsible for costs related to transport within their own countries

Insurance

During the programme in Sweden all participants will be insured against acute illness and accident through the Swedish State Group Insurance and personal insurance by The Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Service Agency (Kammarkollegiet).

Le/la Associate Country Director assure l’élaboration et la gestion efficace des programmes au Maroc ainsi que le leadership du programme genre au Maghreb.
Cette position reporte à la Direction Régionale Afrique d´Oxfam Intermón basée à Dakar, avec une ligne fonctionnelle avec la Direction Maghreb.
Responsabilités Principales
Contribue à la direction stratégique du programme d’Oxfam au Maroc en particulier et au Maghreb en général.
Responsable envers la Direction du cluster Maghreb de l’exécution, la gestion efficace, le suivi et l’évaluation du programme, de même que des enseignements à tirer.
Dans un modèle de consortium, est responsable pour Oxfam Intermón de l’exécution de sa partie de la stratégie et du plan du programme pour le Maghreb. En tant que Lead pays, dirige l’équipe de Gestion Pays.
Est le/la principal(e) représentant(e) d’Oxfam Intermón et du programme national au Maroc. Assure dans ce cadre le leadership d’Oxfam au Maghreb au niveau du Maroc, et en particulier est responsable de la sécurité.
Supervise directement le travail d´Oxfam Intermón dans le pays : employés, budget, financement, sécurité, santé de même que le programme mis en œuvre par Oxfam Intermón.

Profil Requis
Expérience en management et dans des positions similaires de 4 années (minimum)

Expérience au sein d’OXFAM fortement souhaitée avec connaissance et expérience de processus internes One Oxfam (SMS, processus 2020)

About Your Job::
This is an exciting role which will drive Qatar Airways business and provide leadership on a strategic and commercial level for all sales within North, West and Central Africa.
You will strategically develop and deliver revenue for Qatar Airways, maximising the return from existing markets whilst identifying and penetrating new markets where appropriate. You will define the optimal ways to increase sales by recommendations for routes, timings, aircraft type and other product development. You will formulate and implement appropriate sales strategies, including local corporate sales policy, PLBs and commission levels to maximise short and long term revenue opportunities. You will identify business opportunities and development of off-line markets in the region, including appointment of PSA/GSAs, establishing and forging interline relationships and advance planning for manpower to service these markets.
You are responsible for the implementation of sales and marketing plans for the different markets. You will be a Customer Champion, through sales activity and influence to deliver best customer experience. Maximise sales opportunities through value added partners. You will monitor and provide feedback on competitor pricing and promotional activities and steer marketing team to ensure that promotional and advertising campaigns for the area are within set budgets.
You will steer, lead and direct the team to deliver corporate and commercial objectives that will enhance employee motivation and satisfaction. You will regularly review Corporate/ Trade/ Leisure data with team to drive revenue and seek our tactical revenue opportunities.

The position is to be based in Casablanca and will report directly to the VP - Commercial - Africa.

About You::
To be qualified for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.  You must have at least 5 years of sales experience and has a solid understanding of commercial processes within travel and airline industry.
You must have a proven ability to negotiate and work within a multi-national and multi-cultural environment with good leadership and team management skills. You will need good exposure to various commercial areas such as revenue management, marketing and global sales. You will have budgetary and planning experience with a track record of delivering significant change. Additionally you will be a strong people manager.
You will have relevant exposure to the assigned markets within Africa and a demonstrable track record of achievement. Successful candidate must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French and Arabic language will be an advantage.

Tunisia Representative

The Open Society Foundations’ Arab Regional Office (ARO) was established in 2006 to support local civil society in its efforts to protect human rights and build vibrant and tolerant societies. Based in Amman and with a satellite office in Tunis, the office supports a diverse group of civil society organizations, research centers, universities, and media organizations across the Arab world in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Tunisia.
Reporting to the executive director of ARO, the Tunisia Representative will have overall responsibility for coordination of in-country activities, management of a local office, input into Open Society’s strategy development, and coordination with local and international organizations in the country and with the Arab Regional Office.

Most programs and foundations in the network are governed or advised by their own boards.
The Open Society Foundations are the global philanthropies of George Soros, who, as chairman, plays an active role in the work of the foundations. 
Job Profile
  • Serve as principal liaison between ARO and Open Society grantees, and with representatives of relevant organizations on issues related to programming and grant making; 
  • Contribute to the development of ARO program strategies for Tunisia, and the Maghreb region;  
  • Oversee the development of new initiatives, partnerships and projects in Tunisia; 
  • Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of ARO-supported programs and initiatives; cultivate new partnerships and coordinate technical assistance where needed; 
  • Conduct original research, develop working papers, and work with outside experts to produce policy analysis;
  • Monitor and report on the socio-political environment and civil society development in Tunisia to inform grantmaking;  
  • Assist with the recruitment of additional staff and the set-up and administration of the local office; 
  • Facilitate communication between local grantees and partners and Open Society’s thematic Network Programs in developing program strategies and project implementation as needed; 
  • Develop, execute, and coordinate special projects as requested by the director of the ARO; 
  • Organize conferences, working meetings, and events in Tunisia.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree in development studies, international relations, law, human rights, or any related field;
  • Knowledge and experience working in Tunisia and/or the Arab region; 
  • 5–10 years’ experience working with NGOs, international organizations, and/or grantmaking institutions;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and as a team member;  
  • Fluency in Arabic and English; familiarity with French preferable;
  • Strong communication skills in face to face exchange, public speaking and writing of diverse materials;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks, projects and ability to prioritize.
