The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for an Information Center Coordinator in its Information Center/ Data Services Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Guides and coordinates the work of the Information Center, including supervising the staff and preparing the budget and work programs.
- Supervises the collection including: disposing of out-of-date literature; upgrading collection where appropriate with electronic formats; maintaining electronic and print archive.
- Liaises and coordinates internally and externally all subscriptions to ensure the availability of appropriate literature.
- Provides research and reference services to OPEC staff members, delegates, and visitors.
- Prepares and files book orders and maintains an up-to-date PC file of books on order.
- Checks, records and prepares invoices for payment.
- Maintains correspondence with publishers and booksellers regarding queries, delays, cancellations etc.
- Administers and ensures completeness of the Research Division’s electronic archiving.
- Liaises and cooperates with the IT Development Group in implementing new or improved services; ensures effective operation of systems for cataloguing and loans and journal management.
- Coordinates library subscription reviews for journals, books and electronic access as well as in-house trials with the Library Task Force.
Requirements:
- University degree in Information/Library Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of work experience; 6 years in case of advanced degree.

Offer:
Commensurate remuneration package i.e. monthly basic salary of (€5,416 x 12 per year) with tax-free benefits and six-week annual leave.
