Purpose of the Position
The overall objective of the post is strengthen the case management of child protection cases for conflict affected children, with a focus on unaccompanied and separated children, to ensure more effective identification, assessment, safe supported and alternative care places and tracing and family reunification.
Key Expected Results
Output 36: By 2017, the capacity of key institutions and civil society is strengthened to monitor and report violence against children especially in humanitarian context and implement gender and age-appropriate prevention and response measures in at least three states.
Major tasks to be accomplished
Review the status of UASC case management and data to identify the strengths and gaps in the existing UASC programming and develop recommendations to address the gaps.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Education
Master's degree social science, social work, social development, child development or related field is required .
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in child protection programming, with at least two years focused on child protection in emergencies.
Experience in developing and implementing systems of identification, documentation, tracing and reunification of unaccompanied and separated children in armed conflict context, knowledge of BID guidelines and alternative care in emergencies
Experience in developing and delivering training, including on unaccompanied and separated children and alternative care for children
Language
Fluency in English is required- both oral and written.
