OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Under the overall supervision of the MMU Team Leader, the incumbent will be required to work as a member of a team of Engineers and Administrative staff for the successful implementation of all of the MMU project activities.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
· To ensure the full and proper implementation of MMU Procedures.
· Supervise National stock monitors and ensure compliance with project objectives.
· Maintains material inventory list by conducting as a minimum one monthly physical investigation per supplier; reconciling variances between delivery notes or invoices in/out, verifies accuracy of incoming shipments, packing process; tracks orders and investigates any problems may raise.
· Supervise maintenance of accurate inventory records through the use of a computerized inventory system.
· Supervise the monitoring Suppliers storage process, loading, warehouse security, storage area to comply with international storage principles and instruct for any recommended improvements,
· Submit periodic reports to the MMU Team Leader, reports to include the results of monthly investigations, as well as any discrepancy or deficiency raised.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education
· Masters or advanced degree in Engineering/Construction or other relevant discipline
· A first level university degree with 2 additional years of relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree
Work Experience
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in high volume supply chain/logistics operations, including experience in private industry and/or government/international organizations;
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
• Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data.
• Database management skills.
• Ability to analyse and solve problems.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
• Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
• Knowledge of construction suppliers invoicing procedures.

· Professionalism - Strong theoretical background and substantive experience in all phases of international supply chain operations; good working knowledge of INCOTERMS and expertise in handling complex supply chain issues and in the context of UN policies and standards; strong analytical skills and working knowledge of quantitative methods; good knowledge of sources of supply, customs clearance process, market trends, delivery constraints, etc.; sound judgment in applying technical expertise to resolve a range of issues/problems; ability to provide technical guidance to new/junior staff.
· Planning and Organizing- Ability to plan work assignments, juggle competing demands and work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines, and with minimal direction/supervision.
· Communications - Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, with the capability of articulating the office’s strategic goals into sound operating logistics and asset management plans and processes, and the charisma necessary to effectively focus and motivate employees.
· Teamwork - Experience supporting teams in a complex multi-national, multi-cultural environment is required.
Languages
• Fluency in English is essential. Arabic language is an advantage.
