Field Coordinator in the Democratic Republic of Congo
People in Need (PIN) has been working in South Kivu province, Democratic Republic of Congo since 2009 (for more details see www.peopleinneed.cz). In response to the immediate needs in a post-conflict environment, PIN started with implementation of programs focused on access to primary health care, improved access to and quality of primary education, support to victims of sexual violence and assistance to vulnerable communities in meeting their basic needs through livelihoods and water and sanitation interventions. Currently, PIN´s work is covering both emergency and recovery phase while we seek for more sustainable solutions and make substantial efforts towards lasting development in DRC. PIN is present in South Kivu Province, with main office in Bukavu.

Type of Contract: Volunteer
Main responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of PIN´s projects in Mulungu health zone aiming at achieving the program results and fulfilling the contractual obligations
- Directly supervise PIN´s activities in Mulungu health zone – often sites visits, community meetings etc.
- Support the Program Manager in data collection and monitoring and evaluation of the activities
- Coordinate, plan and monitor the activities of national staff based in the field office
- Support the Logistics Coordinator in logistics and security management
- Based on agreement with Country Director representation of PIN as relevant
- Collaboration with local authorities (health State authorities, local leaders, local administration), and other INGOs, UN agencies and any other relevant actor
Main requirements:
- University Degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Logistics or other relevant field
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Relevant experience in project cycle management
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French
- Ability to work systematically and plan effectively
- Ability to work in difficult conditions and under pressure
- Good capacity to work in multi-national teams
- Cultural sensitivity, work/travel in development countries is a great advantage
