IDRC is looking for four professionals to join the Agriculture and Environment Program
Ottawa, Canada
  • Senior Program Specialists – Food, Environment and Health
  • Senior Program Specialist – Livestock Health
  • Senior Program Officer – Collaborative Adaptation Research Initiative in Africa and Asia
IDRC’s Agriculture and Environment program area aims to deliver innovative, evidence-based solutions to help people face the world’s toughest development and environmental challenges: poor agricultural productivity; food insecurity and malnutrition; chronic and infectious diseases; and risks to lives and livelihoods from a changing climate.
At IDRC you will have the opportunity to help identify research and develop programming that will make a difference in the lives of the poor; promote excellence in research and the uptake and use of research results; communicate the importance of research contributions to inform evidence-based decision making.
Overview of Qualifications
  • PhD (preferred) and a record of research and publication in a relevant discipline
Experience:
  • managing research projects in developing regions;
  • maintaining and facilitating collaborative relationships between a diversity of organizations and individuals including scientists, development agents, decision-makers and civil society;
  • promoting the uptake and application of research results monitoring research projects and providing technical guidance (coaching other scientists)
  • communicating research to different audiences.
