Regulatory Supervisors

by Unknown  |  at  7:49 AM

Gain an unparalleled insight into global and UK banking
Protecting the stability of the UK’s financial system is a vital job – and you can help us do it. Through the Prudential Regulation Authority, we promote the safety and soundness of over 1,700 financial firms operating in the UK. We help identify and mitigate potential risks before they can have an adverse effect on the market and, of course, the public.
The challenge
You’ll join a specialist directorate, focusing on international banks or domestic banks, building societies and credit unions. Either way, you’ll analyse everything from business models through to capital and liquidity data – identifying risks and suggesting steps that need to be taken. You’ll undertake essential and high-profile work. You’ll build relationships at a senior level, and you’ll gain a unique insight into the financial sector and its key issues.
The requirements
Financial experience isn’t essential as we offer a comprehensive training programme. Sound judgment and an analytical mindset are what matter here, so your background could be in anything from education or audit, to research or science. You must be comfortable handling, interpreting, and drawing conclusions from complex data. The ability to build relationships with, and present your findings to senior stakeholders is important too.
The opportunity
If you want to see the impact of the Bank of England’s work, just look around you.
As the central bank of the United Kingdom, our mission is to promote the good of the people by maintaining monetary and financial stability. We do this by making decisions that shape life for everyone in the UK. This means the work you’ll be involved in is varied, high profile and, above all, important. It will also see you developing the technical expertise, personal skills and financial insight you’ll need to build a lasting career within the PRA or the wider Bank.
Salaries are dependent on skills and experience and in addition to base salary the Bank of England offers a competitive benefits package, details of which can be found on our website.
