Based: Boda (Lobaye Prefecture), Central African Republic (with travel to field locations)
Contract duration: 24 months (subject to funding)
To start as soon as possible
Are you an experienced French speaking manager with proven leadership and project cycle management experience ready to take on responsibility for Tearfund’s operational project sites in Central African Republic? If so this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You will have relevant humanitarian and leadership experience, coupled with experience in project design and management, donor grant management, proposal writing, finance and strategic planning. Experience of working in complex insecure locations is absolutely essential.
Your responsibilities will include the management of food security and WASH project managers, as well as staff responsible for site specific financial, logistics and human resources functions. You will have regular communication with other agencies, partner organisations, local government and with Tearfund’s Head of Support Services and Deputy Country Director in CAR. You will also be responsible for the timely writing of project proposals and reports on all field activities, per donor requirements.
You’ll need to demonstrate that you are able to work at times with limited direct supervision. Relevant overseas experience and appropriate cross-cultural awareness of this part of the world are essential, combined with a commitment to Tearfund’s values, approach and those we seek to serve.
Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs.
Unaccompanied post
Salary: £31,028 per annum
Although the role is based in Central African Republic, you may be asked to deploy to other Tearfund programmes in West and Central Africa to offer surge support if required.
