The Isle of Man Government Cabinet Office are looking to appoint a Head of Economic Affairs to manage the production of statistical information and contribute to the development of evidence to support decision making across the organisation. You will be degree educated and have a background working in economics or statistics and have proven managerial experience. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of government with the ability to directly see how your work influences policy making at a ministerial level.
The post holder will be responsible for a team of four including a research manager, economic assistant and two administrative officers. You will ensure that the key economic information namely, inflation, unemployment, national income, census etc are produced to international standards and that reporting is continuously reviewed and improved to aid public understanding. You will help determine the research timetable and manage research projects including social surveys, household spending surveys, VAT and tourism surveys. You will produce the quarterly economic report for the Council of Ministers. You will represent the Cabinet Office in a range of different forums and will need to responsive to Ministers and members of Tynwald.
