Key Performance Areas
Under the supervision of the Senior Coordinator, Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or his/her delegate, the Policy Officer will work within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer to offer technical input and support specific missions of the CEO, the production of analytical and strategic knowledge products and support networking activities with bilateral and multilateral partners.
Specifically, the incumbent will:
1. Conduct research and analysis and provide policy support to the CEO’s office on political and socio-economic developments relating to NEPAD implementation.
2. Draft briefing notes, talking points, letters, speeches and presentations in support of the CEO’s engagements.
3. Support the Coordinating Division in the day-to-day operations of the Office of the CEO.
4. Organize schedule of meetings and coordinate high-level meetings and prepare briefing materials and draft minutes of such meetings.
5. Review, comment and support quality assurance and standards in NPCA documentation, including CEO’s statements and presentations, for internal and external use. Lay-out reports using appropriate software, check information and data for procedural accuracy and formatting.
6. Facilitate and coordinate the publication process for key analytical and strategic knowledge products of the CEO’s office.
7. Support the development and maintenance of institutional relations with key partners at the bilateral and multilateral level, in particular through the G8, G20, BRICS and the TICAD process.
8. Represent the CEO’s office in meetings and events as relevant.
9. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

Education and Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Administration or a related field. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional experience in policy analysis, research and project management within the public sector, multilateral institutions, international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and / or internationally.
