Dexis is seeking experienced an Agroforestry Management Expert to perform short-term, on-the-ground guidance at project sites in Ghana, and to train local staff on appropriate tropical agroforestry techniques to enhance soil quality, increase or maintain tree cover, and promote multi-use cropping systems for the Coastal Sustainable Landscapes Project (CSLP) and community partners.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement three 15-day visits to Ghana to develop pilot agroforestry interventions in prioritized community areas in collaboration with CSLP staff and share best practices in various settings
- Conduct pertinent on-the-ground training for CSLP technical staff and CSLP partners responsible for developing and maintaining identified agroforestry sites
- Provide written guidelines for CSLP staff on technical management techniques when appropriate
- Provide reports on all technical activities after each trip to Ghana and communicate with CSLP technical staff on a monthly basis
Qualifications
- Strong practical experience and theoretical knowledge with successful tropical agroforestry techniques in an array of settings and land tenure regimes
- Extensive experience in delivering training and education in tropical agroforestry systems development and management
- Minimum five years of experience working in an international setting and advising large-scale natural resource conservation projects
