- Deadline : 23 Aug 2016
It’s hard to believe that today over 650 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and over 2.3 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.
WaterAid is looking for a Regional Learning Centre Coordinator for Decentralised Water and Sanitation Services, to work within the Mali regional team, as part of WaterAid’s International Programmes Department (IPD). IPD supports the implementation of WaterAid’s Global Strategy at country, regional and continental levels, and designs and implements country programme portfolios, to reach more of the poorest and most marginalised people with access to safe water and sanitation and adequate hygiene.
The Coordinator will work closely with heads of programmes and of policy and their respective staff, and with the West Africa regional team. They will engage key regional stakeholders to raise the profile of decentralised water and sanitation services and build capacity of governments in the region, using learning gathered from country programme experience.
The Coordinator will ensure adequate documentation and dissemination of appropriate learning on decentralisation of WASH services, in line with our district-wide approach, to regional stakeholders. They will also facilitate and support development of relationships between sector organisations and state decentralised institutions.
The successful candidate will have:
A master’s degree (or equivalent) from a development institute or equivalent.
- At least five years’ work experience in the development sector, including at least three at local level working in partnerships and WASH service delivery.
- Experience in learning – research, evaluation, new knowledge acquisition approaches, etc.
- Fluent in written and spoken French.
- Good level of English language.
Candidates should send an application (including date of availability and a statement of any special qualifications for the position) and an up-to-date curriculum vitae, including the names and addresses (including telephone/fax/e-mail) of three referees, to: MaliRecruitment@wateraid.org
Women and candidates from developing countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
